Hibiscus Iced Tea Refresher

A really great recipe for a super refreshing take on iced tea.
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp dried hibiscus flowers
- 4 cups water
- ½ cinnamon stick
- Juice from ½ lemon
- ½ lemon, cut into thin slices
- Optional: honey, maple syrup, agave, or stevia to taste
- Ice for serving
Method
- Bring water to boil in saucepot. Add hibiscus flowers and cinnamon stick. Take off heat, cover and let steep for 20 minutes.
- Strain into pitcher.
- Add lemon juice and slices.
- Optional: sweeten to taste
- Let chill in refrigerator and serve over ice.
Tizz's Tips
Adding ice to glasses just before serving guarantees that iced tea won't become diluted in the refrigerator.
Where to get dried hibiscus flowers? Try your local health food store. Or substitute 2 hibiscus teas bags for the flowers in the recipe.
